Customer Evaluations
Had Audiovox Prestige remote lock/unlock with alarm installed on 2002 Honda Civic LX by a local dealer 4 years ago. Have been rather satisfied with the item as no theft or harm has been done though I function in not-so-great region. The remote transmitter was operating well though the screen quit functioning right after a year and half till I left it in the rain for four hours even though playing golf. Thus, I needed a replacement transmitter. I in fact had 5BCR03P, and by online, I learned that 5BCR07P is the updated version and would function with my security system. By the way, the original shop that installed it mentioned it no longer carried the transmitter and if I get it by way of internet, they would system it for $35.
Since the item did not come with instruction to program it, I had to obtain it working with Audiovox web site. It took various trial and error and likely disturbed my neighbors, but I got it completed. Crucial crucial is to know exactly where the valve is, and push and release 3 instances until you hear the response, then push the button on the transmitter button you want to system for a number of seconds until you get the desired action. (I initially pushed unlock button by mistake, so unlock button lock the doors and lock button did the reverse. Confusing.) Otherwise, I am rather happy that now I have a good looking remote, which many people think it is cell telephone.
The transmitter was identical to the 1 I had broken. The item came with a scratch on the screen, no protection in the little box. This item is supposed to be new? Also, no directions on how to plan. Could not waste time in fighting them about it, took it to an alarm place and got charged $40 for programming. No deal at all. Transmitter nevertheless has flaws with delay activation. Don't know what to do.
