Client Evaluations

After years of utilizing a portable universal tuner through either the FM tuner or aux. jack on my stereo, I finally decided it was time to upgrade my stereo head unit so I could integrate all my "attachments". I've been working with the Sirius SCC1 with my Alpine CDA-9886 for about five months now, and I've been very pleased with it. The Sirius SCC1 works Good with the head unit and causes no problems with the other peripherals attached to it (I've also got the bluetooth module (KCA 200BT) and iPod cable). The sound quality is exceptional--far superior than it was employing the portable unit via the auxillary input. 1 of the characteristics I appreciated most about my portable unit was the ability to mark preferred songs or bands and be notified when they are being broadcast on any channel. This unit maintains that capacity, while I do miss the choice of getting the notification beep via the speakers instead the notification is visual on the face of the head unit, so if you are not seeking at the head unit, you can conveniently miss it. (I have not read via all the instructions even though, so this is not to say that the beep option doesn't exist).
Don't forget that with this unit, you will need the Sirius adaptor that is distinct to your head unit. This is the TUNER itself, NOT the adaptor. YOU Should HAVE Both in order for it to work (mine is paired with the KCA-SC100). All in all I've located the SCC1 to be a terrific value. Installation was SUPER easy for me (I installed it myself in about 20 minutes), the sound top quality is great, and the convenience and cleanness of keeping almost everything integrated by means of the head unit makes it a fantastic product.

I purchased 1 of these SIRIUS tuner modules to enable me to receive satellite radio by way of my new in-dash unit. It works perfectly. The tuner is so sensitive that I can listen to SIRIUS with the automobile parked inside my garage.
NOTE: an further interface module is also needed to connect this tuner to your in-dash unit. The precise interface module you need to have will rely on the brand and model of your head unit. Be sure you have each just before beginning your installation.
