    Client Critiques

I just purchased 1 of these units at a nearby merchant and so far so really good! I just wanted something affordable and hassle-free to upgrade my factory stereo. I wanted bluetooth but there are also quite a few head units that have horrible bluetooth capabilities so I decided to go devoid of (I may well add the added unit later on this 1).
This unit is equipped with a 7 band EQ as nicely as a subwoofer level control, each are Should haves in my book. So far after 1 day I am extremely pleased with the sound excellent! Crisp Highs and zero distortion that I can hear. I have been out of the automobile audio game for about ten years now so I was clueless going in and for $125 I wasn't expecting considerably but I must say I am pleasantly suprised! I nevertheless have my factory Dodge speakers in and also added a 12" Orion Sub/Amp in the trunk. The menu's can be a bit tricky but just after only 1 day (2 hours) I believe I have them down pat. If you're looking for anything uncomplicated for an up-grade to your current factory tunes I would without a doubt recommend this unit. A Kenwood deck with related functions goes for practically $100 additional and I can't see that there would be that substantially of a difference in sound and I am not seeking to enter any sound competitions anytime soon. Bottom line: if you are seeking for an upgrade from the factory head unit (junk) installed by the manufacturer..for the price, this head unit is a steal!

This is my 1st replacement radio encounter and I did a lot of analysis to replace the stereo in my 1998 Subaru Impreza. I wanted anything that had HD and a uncomplicated AUX input for my iPod. The JVC KD-HDR40 fit perfectly into the dash making use of the existing factory sleeve. Given that it was my very first self install, the only issue that took A LOT of time was creating the new wire harness. If I had to do it again, I would zip by means of that method but the initial time was a challenge for me. I utilized a replacement harness that was particularly designed to be spliced amongst the new stereo and the factory wires and after that element was finished it went in quick. The HD signal locks in pretty rapidly with practically no lag and though the controls are not intuitive, they can be figured out pretty quickly. The directions are not as clear as I would like but I was in a position to get my favorite stations preset following some trial and error. Then I found that the presets can be surfed just by clicking the up and down arrows suitable subsequent to the quickly forward and reverse buttons. Not as well negative though it would be nice to have devoted preset buttons. Not a con BUT the display is super bright at night. Even on the lower setting it drowns out my AC/Heater control lights. I do like the big knob that controls volume and the selections inside the menu but it worries me that the plastic material might snap off more than time. General, Outstanding sound by way of the factory speakers, decent controls and HD at a fair value. I advise!
