Consumer Critiques

I actually like this unit. Maybe it is just for the reason that I assume like the Sony guys when it comes to employing a device - I do not know.
I installed the unit in my Jeep in about five minutes employing a generic wiring harness adapter. I plugged my iPod into the Tune Tray and was scrolling through album titles in seconds. It does take a few seconds to "read" the iPod which is understandable considering the fact that I have about 40GB of music on it.
I located it very easy to set up the EQ I utilised the Gravity preset 1st then tweaked it a small. I seriously liked the listening space feature which I set to front left seat considering the fact that I drive by myself most of the time. It sounds fantastic and is lots loud for my car.
This unit was a tiny alot more expensive than some that I deemed but not too poor taking into consideration Bluetooth is included. In contrast to the previous unlucky reviewer, I knew exactly what I was acquiring. I use the Tune Tray for my iPod and I connect my iPhone 3GS by way of Bluetooth to stream music from my iPhone. I have applied all types of diverse apps with no troubles so far (Napster, Pandora, etc.). Employing a USB stick in the front USB input also works awesome - this is a improved receiver than some other individuals mainly because it supports AAC files in addition to MP3.
Bottom line: I now have access to practically unlimited music, and I can truly come across what I want devoid of cumbersome buttons and inefficient navigation.

My earlier head unit finally crapped out immediately after dying a slow, annoying death.
I concluded that all I required was line in and pre-amp outputs. That's all I want for my ipod touch. My technique does not demand the head unit for amplification and I do not use CDs or listen to the radio any longer.
I chose this more high-priced model due to the fact I wanted the BT integration. I moved to CA and it really is not legal to drive on the telephone without handsfree. It also had a nicer display.
The unit has lots of adjustments. I only use the 7 band eq and adjusted sound for my car's speaker distances. It sounds definitely good.
You can see all your playlists and content material sort on the display.
General, I'm pleased but the selector knob is quite bad. It presses, rotates and moves four ways. The menu system is not rather intuitive when navigating and I have difficulty pressing in the knob, frequently moving it in 1 of four directions with unexpected outcomes. In some cases it doesn't seem to press at all. The knob would be sufficient purpose to return most other head units, but here the positives outweigh this dilemma (and it's currently installed). I suggest not even trying to use this unit while moving.
Subsequent most annoying problem for me is that you can't commence a playlist in shuffle. It remembers what it was undertaking when you start out the vehicle, but when you adjust playlists you have to hit play, then hit shuffle. So a single song starts when you hit play, then one more starts when you hit shuffle.
Also, I genuinely wanted a spectrum analyzer on the display which this claims to have. But it does not appear to correspond to the music, is behind the text, and is angled as if it is going into the unit. It is quite crappy, so I turned it off.
Lastly, ultimately not a major deal to me, the description says there is a line in jack, but there is not. I thought I would use it if the play counts were not updated when applying the ipod "inside". Then again, the play counts do update.
Really good: Concept, sound top quality, equalizer, display, BT compatibility
Negative: Low-priced/flashy plastic materials for buttons and knob, tough to read buttons, usability of the controls/menu, spectrum analyzer
